The Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) is a non-profit gallery and educational space located in the South Bronx, New York. The BDC presents through exhibitions, screenings, and public programming the work of internationally-renowned and emerging photographers and filmmakers who are dealing with the themes that guide the BDC: justice, education, community-building, and positive social change.
The BDC also provides free education programs for middle and high school students as well as a professional education program for historically underrepresented adult Bronx-based photographers.
Since opening its doors in 2011, the BDC exhibitions and programs have been widely reviewed and featured in national and international newspapers, magazines, local and national radio and TV, establishing the BDC as a place for "World-Class Photojournalism, at Home in the South Bronx" as the New York Times titled in 2016. Publicity campaigns for each BDC exhibitions reach on average 700K in print circulation and 7 billion in online readership.
